Khanna, Ludhiana, February 22, 2026: Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond along with his family attended the first star-filled evening of the Punjab Sakhi Shakti Mela'-2026 in Khanna on Saturday. Famous Punjabi singer Gulab Sidhu enthralled the crowd with his performance.
Sond stated that under the Punjab Government's initiative, the district administration, in collaboration with the Industries and Commerce Department under the RAMP Scheme and Punjab State Rural Livelihood Mission, has organized the 'Punjab Sakhi Shakti Mela. The current government has increased the budget for such fairs and Punjab's culture, music, food, and heritage are being promoted to the people. He mentioned that skilled women from Punjab and various states across the country, including Union Territories, are selling their products through stalls here.
Sond also informed that over 1000 artists, artisans, traders, and skilled individuals from various states are participating in this 'Punjab Sakhi Shakti Mela', with thousands visiting daily for shopping and entertainment.
Famous Punjabi singer Gulab Sidhu, arriving at the Punjab Sakhi Shakti Mela in Khanna, welcomed Cabinet Minister Shri Tarunpreet Singh Sond and the large audience.
Market Committee Khanna Chairman Jagtar Singh Gill Rattanheri, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Amarjit Bains, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Swati Tiwana, councilors, AAP leaders, and others were also present.
The upcoming star evenings at the Punjab Sakhi Shakti Mela promise an exciting lineup of popular Punjabi artists to keep the crowds entertained. Today, singer Alap Sikander will take the stage, followed by Khan Bhaini on February 23, Labh Heera on February 24, and the talented duo of Meet Kaur and Deepak Dhillon performing together on February 25. The performances continue with Harf Cheema on February 26, the legendary Harbhajan Mann on February 27, Sippy Gill on February 28, and R. Nait on March 1, each bringing their signature folk and hits to captivate the audience before the grand conclusion with Ranjit Bawa on March 2.
