He said that tender for the same will be opened on Monday and the work will be completed within a year.

Ludhiana, April 7, 2026: Fulfilling its promise made to the Ludhiana industry, Punjab Minister for Industries and Commerce, Investment Promotion, Local Bodies and Power Sanjeev Arora today said that an Exhibition Centre is coming up on 10-acre piece of land near Jalandhar Byepass. He said that tender for the same will be opened on Monday and the work will be completed within a year.
Sanjeev Arora announced this during his interaction with leading industrialists of Ludhiana at Hotel Hyatt Regency, here today.
While addressing the industrialists, the Cabinet Minister said that it is a moment of great pride that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab has witnessed the highest-ever investment in its history for the year 2025-26, with commitments worth Rs. 60,256 crore, that would create 1.35 lakh jobs for youth, that reflects the Punjab Government’s resolve to provide a conducive environment for industrial growth.
“Our target for next year will be Rs 75,000 crore and we are sure that we will surpass this target,” the Cabinet Minister said.
Speaking to the media after an interaction session with local industrialists in Ludhiana, the Minister said Punjab has emerged as one of the most preferred destinations for investors. He said that major industrial groups, including the JSW Group and the Mittal Group, have announced investments worth Rs. 3,000 crore and Rs. 2,600 crore respectively. The Tata group has started its production at Tata Steels plant set up in Cycle Valley at village Dhanansu (Ludhiana).
Arora announced that the Punjab Government will roll out a new industrial park policy within a month, under which large industrial parks spread across at least 25 acres will be developed in the state. He said industrialists and real estate developers will jointly participate in the development of these parks, while investors will get all necessary approvals simply by registering for investment in these projects.
Describing the policy as a game-changer, he said industries shifting to these new parks will receive major incentives. Existing industries adopting zero liquid discharge norms will be eligible for incentives up to Rs. 10 crore, while new industries will receive 100 per cent incentives. Likewise, industries setting up paddy straw boiler plants will receive incentives of up to Rs. 7.5 crore.
Sanjeev Arora further said that a new operation and maintenance policy has already been approved by the Cabinet, under which industrialists themselves will collect maintenance charges and use the funds for the upkeep of focal points and industrial hubs.
He said that the Punjab’s newly launched Industrial Policy has been crafted keeping all stakeholders on board. He said that the policy has been so well received amongst the industrialists that it is also being praised by a BJP MLA in Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha.
Reacting to a query regarding law and order in Focal Points and Industrial Areas, the Cabinet Minister said that 29 new PCR vehicles have been added to existing lot and patrolling in these areas will be intensified. He also urged the industrialists that to avoid snatching cases, they should pay salaries to their staff in their bank accounts.
Replying to another query regarding mixed land use areas of Ludhiana, Sanjeev Arora assured that the Punjab government is very close to finding a permanent solution to the issue.
He also said that all roads in Focal Points, industrial areas as well as main roads in all cities across are being re-carpeted in full swing and the work is expected to complete by May.
While clarifying a question related to flight timings at Halwara Airport, Sanjeev Arora said that the timings have been fixed by Air India keeping in mind that the travellers can book connecting flights anywhere in the world. He said that some “latecomers” are creating confusion amongst people regarding flight timings. “I assure that the timing has not changed,” confirmed Arora.
Secretary Department for Industries and Commerce Punjab Kirpal Singh also gave a detailed presentation regarding major incentives for investors in Punjab.
Among those present on the occasion were MLAs Ashok Parashar Pappi, Kulwant Singh Sidhu, Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur, Secretary Department for Industries and Commerce Punjab Gurkirat Kirpal Singh, Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain, Commissioner of Police Swapan Sharma, MC Commissioner Neeru Katyal and representatives of various industries.
