Khanna (Ludhiana), July 17, 2025: Punjab Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond on Thursday launched the groundbreaking 'Easy Registry' system in Khanna on Thursday, revolutionizing land and property registration by making it seamless, transparent, and accessible.
Speaking after the launch, Sond highlighted that the system eliminates the need for middlemen and repeated visits to registry offices. "With all registry-related information available on WhatsApp, the process is now faster, more transparent, and user-friendly," he said. Punjab is the first state in India to introduce this innovative system, allowing citizens to visit any sub-registrar office in their district for registrations.
The 'Easy Registry' system offers multiple conveniences, including online document submission, digital pre-verification, and the ability to schedule appointments at sub-registrar offices. Citizens can prepare sale deed drafts independently or seek assistance from service providers, reachable via the helpline 1076, who can visit homes to assist with document preparation. Sond emphasized that the system saves time, money, and effort, with pre-verification completed within 48 hours and registrations finalized swiftly as per scheduled appointments. This eliminates long queues and repeated office visits, particularly benefiting busy professionals.
During the event, Sond also engaged with citizens at the sub-registrar office, discussing operational improvements and government initiatives. Attendees praised the Punjab government for reducing bureaucratic hurdles and enhancing efficiency in the registry process.
The first 'Easy Registry' was issued to Gurmeet Singh Mangat, son of Joginder Singh from Mehdudan village, Samrala Tehsil, by Sub-Registrar Tanvir Kaur.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate Dr. Baljinder Singh Dhillon also elaborated that applicants can draft and submit property deeds online, with approvals granted within 48 hours.
