Punjab Bleeds, Youth Dying, Drugs Winning, Declare National Emergency Now: National BJP leader Grewal

Chandigarh, December 17, 2025: National BJP leader Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal Bhukhri Kalan said that with a heart full of love, respect and unshakable faith he humbly and earnestly appeals to the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and the Union Home Minister Amit Shah to take this moment as a decisive turning point for Punjab in its painful battle against drugs.

Grewal wrote on his social media account X that Punjab, which has always stood as the sword arm and soul of the nation, is today bleeding silently. Our youth, who once carried dreams, discipline and national pride in their eyes, are being trapped by a ruthless drug network that has no mercy and no morality. This menace is not only destroying families but is slowly attacking the social fabric, security and future strength of India itself. He said this issue must be seen not merely as a law and order concern but as a national security emergency.

Grewal said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi the nation has witnessed bold decisions, zero tolerance against corruption and fearless governance. He expressed full trust that the same courage and clarity can free Punjab from this curse if applied with absolute resolve and without any political interference. He said that Punjab is looking towards the Centre with hope, faith and confidence.

Grewal told that religious institutions must also play their sacred role in this national mission. Gurudwaras have always guided society during difficult times and they can once again become centres of healing and reform. He said that Gurudwaras should lead de addiction seva camps and spread the powerful message “Nasha Chhaddo Sikhi Apnao” to reconnect the youth with faith, discipline and selfless service. Regular kathas and speeches in Gurudwaras focusing on the dangers of drugs can awaken conscience and create strong social resistance against addiction.

He said that strong and uncompromising laws are the backbone of any serious fight. New legal provisions are urgently required to strengthen enforcement. Repeat drug smugglers must face life imprisonment without exception. Houses, vehicles and shops used for drug trafficking must be sealed immediately. There should be no bail in commercial quantity drug cases. Any political leader or influential person found protecting drug criminals must face public disclosure and strict legal punishment. The era of political shelter for drug mafias must end forever.

Grewal said that families are the first line of defence and they must be empowered with knowledge and support. A massive door to door awareness campaign can educate parents about early behavioural changes, signs of addiction and withdrawal symptoms. When families are alert and informed many young lives can be saved before they fall completely into darkness. He said saving even one child is saving the future of the nation.

He further said that seamless coordination between state and central agencies is essential for lasting success. Weekly coordination meetings between the Union Home Ministry, NIA, ED and Punjab Police can ensure unity of purpose and speed of action. An Integrated Drug Control Dashboard can help real time intelligence sharing, monitoring and precision based operations.

Grewal said that Punjab can win this war if it is guided by courage, honesty and zero political interference. This is not a routine social problem. This is a national crisis that demands immediate, fearless and compassionate action. The solutions are visible, the roadmap is clear and the people are ready. What Punjab needs now is decisive will, strong leadership and unwavering commitment. With deep respect and hope he urged Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to lead this historic mission and give Punjab back its future, its pride and its youth.
