PU VC visits construction site of multipurpose auditorium 

Chandigarh: Professor Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University on January 4 visited the construction site of Multi Purpose Auditorium at  Sector 25 Campus, here today, to review the progress of the ongoing construction work.


VC took the stock of ongoing construction and allied activities including civil, electrical, fire-alarm & fire-fighting system, road & parking, genset etc. and directed the concerned officials and contractors to ensure timely completion of the project without any compromise on the quality of the material used.

He further advised the officials to include the panel of technical experts to periodically review and monitor the progress of work done.

Later, Professor Raj Kumar chaired the meeting of Construction Committee to oversee the progress of other ongoing construction activities at PU. He expressed his satisfaction over the completion of T-3 houses and occupancy thereof. He also, reviewed ongoing construction work of the Girls Hostel No. 11, CALEM and HRDC building besides the work at PU Regional Centres at Ludhiana and Muktsar.

He also visited the site of the Incubation Centre and discussed the plan and gave directions to the officials to expedite its work.

During the visits, PU officials present included Prof. Shankarji Jha, Dean of University Instruction, Professor Karamjeet Singh, Registrar, Professor RK Singla, Dean Research, CA Vikram Nayyar, Finance & Development Officer, Professor Emanual Nahar, Dean Student Welfare, Mr. R.K. Rai, XEN, Mr. Harpreet Singh, Architect , other senior faculty members and staff of PU construction and architect office.
