Chandigarh, March 17, 2026: University Business School (UBS), Panjab University (PU) organised a book release event for “Bhagavad Gita’s Guide to Corporate Dharma: Timeless Strategies to Navigate the Corporate Jungle”, authored by its alumnus Ashok Kumar Bhatia.
The event was held under the chairpersonship of Prof. Parmjit Kaur and coordinated by Dr. Tilak Raj. Faculty members, alumni and MBA students attended the programme.
Ashok Kumar Bhatia is currently a content creator, author and speaker. For over 35+ years, Ashok has worked in senior management positions with such industrial groups as Tatas and HCL. Since 2021, he has been associated with Conscious Enterprises Network, a UK-based virtual platform for professionals who are passionate about caring for our planet
Speaking on the occasion, UBS Chairperson Prof. Parmjit Kaur stated that management education extends beyond technical knowledge to include values, integrity and clarity of thought.
In the interaction, Bhatia discussed the motivation behind the book and shared how the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita have shaped his understanding of leadership, decision-making and personal well-being. He noted that the book is intended for both senior managers and young professionals entering the corporate world.
Bhatia explained that the philosophical insights of the Gita offer practical guidance for maintaining clarity, ethical conduct and emotional balance in professional life. Referring to concepts such as stress management, happiness and desire quotients, and different types of happiness including tamasic happiness, he emphasised their relevance in understanding workplace challenges and achieving meaningful growth.
Earlier, D. P. Singh, a fellow alumnus of UBS in the introductory session highlighted Bhatia’s professional journey spanning over three decades in senior management roles with industrial groups including Tatas and HCL.
During the interactive session, the students interacted on applying spiritual philosophy to corporate decision-making. Bhatia responded by linking classical ideas with contemporary organisational contexts.
