Chandigarh, 8 March 2025: The Third Chandigarh Language Congress will be held on 3–4 April at Panjab University, focusing on the theme “Language, Literature, and Cultural Plurality.”
 
Dedicated to the literary legacy of Krishna Sobti in her centenary year, this prestigious gathering of eminent writers, critics, and scholars from English, Hindi, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Urdu, German, and French will feature a full session on her works, exploring her contributions to language, gender, and cultural identity.
 
PU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig released the event brochure in the presence of Dean of University Instruction Prof. Rumina Sethi; Director of the Research and Development Cell and Chief Coordinator of the event Prof. Yojna Rawat; Coordinators, namely Prof. Yog Raj Angrish, Prof. Meenu Gupta, and Prof. Gurmit Singh; along with other members of the organising committee, including Dr. Ravinder Kaur Dhaliwal, Dr. Tomeer Sharma, and Dr. Baljeet Kaur.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Renu Vig emphasised the significance of linguistic and cultural diversity, stating: "The Chandigarh Language Congress provides a crucial platform to celebrate the richness of languages and engage in meaningful discussions on literature and culture. In an era driven by artificial intelligence and computational linguistics, the study of language remains more important than ever. This congress is an initiative by Panjab University to foster interdisciplinary dialogue, bridging the gap between literature, culture, and technological advancements.”
