KMVites gain Practical Exposure to Airport Operations During Educational Visit to International Airport

Jalandhar, September 27, 2026: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous), Jalandhar, organised a successful educational field visit for the students of BBA Airlines and Airport Management.
The students first visited Sri Guru Ram Das Ji International Airport, Amritsar, where they gained practical insights into airport operations. They observed key functional areas including passenger handling, security procedures, baggage management, and other operational processes that form the backbone of an international airport. The visit also helped students understand the wide range of career opportunities available in airport operations after the completion of the programme, such as ground handling, passenger services, airline operations, cargo management, and airport administration.
It is noteworthy that KMV is the only college in the region having a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Airports Authority of India, which provides its students with exclusive opportunities for industry exposure, training, and professional growth in the aviation sector. Later in the day, the students also visited Sri Harimandir Sahib (Golden Temple), Amritsar. The visit provided them with a meaningful cultural and spiritual experience, enriching their overall learning beyond the classroom.
Director Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the successful organisation of the field visit and commended the efforts of Dr. Sunil, Head of the Department in providing students with valuable practical exposure. She averred that this initiative reflects the college’s continued focus on experiential learning and holistic development of its students.
