PU observed “Armed Forces Flag Day”

Chandigarh, December 7, 2022: Today, Panjab University, Chandigarh observed “Armed Forces Flag Day” at the University Campus. Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor while given his contribution for Armed Forces, shared that Armed Forces Flag Day is observed throughout the country to honor the martyrs and the men in uniform who valiantly fought on our borders to safeguard the country's honour. He further informed that the Flag Day gives us an opportunity to contribute most generously to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund and urged all to contribute handsomely and help our valiant soldiers in their rehabilitation.

Many departments/centres, Library, Student Centre of Panjab University have contributed today. The collection will be handed over to the Zila Sainik Welfare Board, Sector-21, Chandigarh which will further be utilized for the welfare schemes of war widows and families of Armed Forces soldiers.

Vikram Singh, Chief of University Security, PU informed that on this day the services rendered by personnel of Army, Navy and Air Force are remembered. He further informed that it is the collective duty of every citizen of our country to ensure rehabilitation and welfare of the dependents of our brave martyrs and disabled personnel.
