PU Faculty participates in IPI, New York

Chandigarh, May 16, 2023: Chandigarh based academician and author, Dr. Amneet Gill who teaches in Panjab University, Chandigarh participated in a webinar on ‘Energy Insecurity and Energy Transitions : Obstacles and Opportunities’ organized by the Institute for Policy Integrity, New York University School of Law, United States on 15 May 2023. 

The webinar began by identifying and measuring energy insecurity. It offered relevant insights on how energy security of low income populations such as in Puerto Rico and some neighborhoods of New York will be affected by different aspects of energy transition and examined the possible solutions such as energy cost assistance programs and post crisis opportunities to serve and benefit the communities they are engaging with. 

In her interaction, Dr. Amneet Gill emphasized that from the Puerto Rico model of energy transition, it is evident that energy funding seems to be highly linked to power dynamics and its true test is the impact on low income neighborhoods and communities.
