Chandigarh, April 11, 2023: Department of Youth Welfare, Panjab University Chandigarh organised its Annual Prize Distribution function in the Mahatma Hansraj Hall, Department of Youth Welfare today. Prof. Renu Vig, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University, Chandigarh was chief guest.
Dignitaries from the various departments of the University including, Prof. Jatinder Grover, Dean Student Welfare, Prof. Simrat Kahlon, Dean Student Welfare (Women), Dr. Namita Gupta, Director Public Relations, Dr. Ramesh Kataria, Department of Chemistry, Dr. Kuldeep kaur Dhaliwal, Principal, Mata Ganga Khalsa College for Women, Kottan (Senator PU), Dr. S. S. Sangha, Principal, Dasmesh Girls College, Badal, Sri Muktsar Sahib (Senator PU) and Dr. Rajinder Singh Sekhon, Principal, Maharaja Ranjit Singh College, Malout.
Principals from the various colleges, team managers and organizers of various events were present on the occasion. The event commenced with the formal welcome of Vice Chancellor, Prof. Renu Vig by Director, Youth welfare, Dr. Rohit Kumar Sharma followed by the presentation of the annual report of the department. On the occasion students who brought laurels to the University by winning prizes in various categories at All India Inter-University National Youth Festival 2022-23, All India Open National Youth Festival- 2023, North Zone Inter-University Youth Festival 2022-23, Punjab State Inter-University Youth Festival 2022-23 were facilitated. On the occasion staff editors of Annual Magazine “Jawan Tarang” were also felicitated by Vice Chancellor, Prof. Renu Vig.
Vice -Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig congratulated the awardees and the team of Youth Welfare Department for their extraordinary achievements throughout the year. While sharing her life experiences, she encouraged the students for participation in co-curricular activities for holistic development of their personality. She applauded the department officials and participating students for winning Overall Trophy in the Punjab State Inter-University Youth Festival organized by Directorate of Youth Services, Punjab Govt. at Punjabi University, Patiala.
