Psychology Department and Happitude Laboratory underscores importance of mental health through awareness campaign
On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, faculty members, research scholars, and students from the Department of Psychology at MDU pledged to prioritize mental health, work for mental health awareness in society, and spread compassionate mental health awareness in society and the nation.

Rohtak, October 10, 2025: On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, faculty members, research scholars, and students from the Department of Psychology at MDU pledged to prioritize mental health, work for mental health awareness in society, and spread compassionate mental health awareness in society and the nation.
HOD, Prof. Anjali Malik, said that World Mental Health Day is celebrated worldwide on October 10th. The purpose of this day is to spread and propagate mental health awareness worldwide. In this context, the department took the Mental Health Pledge to promote mental health awareness in society. The Department of Psychology and Happitude Laboratory are jointly organizing various activities and awareness programs as part of Mental Health Awareness Week, starting October 6th.
Awareness Program Coordinator, Prof. Deepti Hooda said that in this series, the psychological, physical and social aspects of the health of about 400 students were evaluated in the Mental Health Awareness and Assessment Camp organized in the Department of Psychology. In this camp, the stress caused by academic reasons of the students and their cognitive ability etc. were also assessed. In particular, body-mass index (BMI), problem solving ability; and various aspects of intelligence, stress, depression, mental well-being and happiness were evaluated.
Prof. Shalini Singh, Dr. Shashi Rashmi, Dr. Bindu along with staff members and students were present in the Mental Health Day Pledge Program and Mental Health Awareness Program. Highlighting the importance of mental health in life, the Mental Health Awareness Campaign of the Department of Psychology and Happiness Laboratory took a new initiative by creating awareness about this important issue in the MDU campus.
