Prospectus for academic session 2020-21 released at Lyallpur Khalsa College 

Jalandhar: The prospectus for the academic session 2020-21 was released at Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar. 
College Principal Dr Gurpinder Singh Samra assured students that the college will make utmost efforts for their regular studies despite the delay caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. He also announced that students with merit positions in their previous classes will be given various scholarships at the time of their admission in the wide range of courses available in the college. Dr Samra informed that students securing more than 80% in class 12th will be given 20% fee concession, followed by 25% concession to students with more than 90% marks and a concession of 40% to students who have secured above 95% in the recently concluded class 12th exams. He also added that for commonly available courses, the college will provide full fee concession to students attaining first position in the university examinations, followed by 75% concession to second position holders and 50% concession to third position holders while 40% concession to be given to every student making their way into the merit positions. 
Dr Samra added that 50% fee concession to students attaining first position in the university examinations, followed by 40% concession to second position holders and 30% concession to third position holders while 15% concession to be given to every student for courses which are not in the commonly available category. Dr Samra also briefed about the newly introduced courses in the college aimed at the all round development of students. These new programs commencing from the session 2020-21, include PG Diplomas in Fashion Makeover, PG Diploma in Cosmetology, Diploma in Fashion Technology along with the option to have Indian Classical Dance as an elective subject in BA pass course. It was also highlighted that the college is already successfully running Certificate Courses in Urdu, French and Mushroom cultivation. The students have also been given the option to choose 1 year diploma courses in Web Designing, Computer Application, Business Management, Computer Maintenance and Professional Accountancy. Principal Dr Samra also informed that the college has already claimed the Teja Singh Samundari Overall Sports Trophy of Guru Nanak Dev University for record 24 times along with two time winning of the prestigious Cultural Trophy of the university and three times first runner up trophy as well. The prospectus release ceremony was also witnessed by Prof Jasreen Kaur, Dean Academic Affairs and Dr Tarsem Singh.
