Project Drona recognizes 50 faculty from 14 engineering colleges across Telangana

Project Drona’s 50 faculty in “Fastest First Dronas” program, who have completed their first phase of learning on 6th March 2023 were recognized at IIIT Hyderabad.


Project Drona, is a first of its kind Faculty Development and Enrichment Program and is HYSEA’s talent transformation initiative in partnership with TASK & Infosys Springboard. The program started in October 2022. The program unfolds in 3 phases.  

•    Faculty indulge in contemporary learning methods to learn AI/ML or Full Stack & Digital Technology skills 
•    Perform hands-on problem-solving of business cases applying the concepts. 
•    Industry visits for an immersive experience discovering project management process with emphasis on professional skill development 


HYSEA is providing industry support, while TASK is bringing the academic institutions together. The content is being delivered via Infosys Springboard. ServiceNow, Ciginiti, Broadridge are partnering for industry support.

Founder Chairman & Board Member, Cyient, Manisha Saboo, President HYSEA, VP & Campus Head, Infosys Hyderabad SEZ & Indore, Shrikant Sinha, CEO, TASK, Mr. Sairam Vedam, CMO, Cigniti, Chief of Program, Project Drona, Managing Committee Member, HYSEA, Rajendra Palorkar, VP Engineering & Head of India DT, ServiceNow, Amit Mitra, Chief Operating Officer, Broadridge India, and Dr. Buddha Chandra Sekhar, Chief Coordinating Officer, AICTE, Ministry of Education spoke at length about the new education policy and how the effort today is to aim for team excellence instead of just individual excellence.  


Addressing the faculty members, management teams and the students the Chief Guest Sri BVR Mohan Reddy talked about the huge opportunities that lie ahead for the India IT Industry as it expected to be a 500 billion dollar industry by 2030 with number of IT companies set to double from present 30,000 IT companies. 


Dr. Vasudev Varma, IIITH, delivered the keynote on “Paradigm shift in Education and Learning” and encouraged both faculty and students to focus on creating a learning environment and not just a teaching environment. 


The program has been well received by Faculty & College managements in the state of Telangana. The Fastest First Dronas celebration was attended by the colleges from interior regions of Telangana state.   The faculty & colleges went back with renewed energy to encourage more faculty to start learning. The program also helped learn from the industry & academia how to be prepared for the next technology revolution.
