Programme on Life and Teachings of Swami Vivekanand

Jalandhar, May 2, 2017: PG Department of English of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya-the Heritage Institution, Jalandhar organized a Special programme dedicated to the life and teachings of Swami Vivekanand one of the greatest thinkers and philosophers of our times. The programme called ‘A Tribute to Swami Vivekanand’ recreated the landmark moments in the life of the great saint through narration and enactment, supported by PPTs and choreography. The aim of the programme was to familiarize the young students with the great teachings and philosophy of Swami Vivekanand so that they could feel inspired and emulate his great ideals.
Mrs. Seema Jain, Head, PG Department of English along with other faculty members extended floral greetings to the Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi who was the chief guest on the occasion. The welcome address was delivered by Mrs. Seema Jain, HOD by relating an anecdote from Swami Ji’s life, highlighting the importance of character and its relevance in the present times. Principal Prof. Atima Sharma delivered the inaugural address. Addressing the students, she said that Swami Ji’s life had a message for every age group. And as young Indians we should be proud of our heritage and culture. In the end, she asked the faculty to members to make such programmes a regular feature and one again congratulated all the members and students for the initiative taken by them.
