Chandigarh, June 23, 2015: The Punjab Government has taken a policy decision to make teacher training compulsory for the teachers of Technical, Polytechnic and ITIs.
Stating this, a spokesperson of the Technical Education and Industrial Training Department said that in keeping with the decision while the already serving teachers in Technical colleges would undergo 10 days teacher training refresher course, the newly recruited teachers would have to undergo full fledged course.
The spokesperson also said that the process to prepare curriculum for this course has been initiated and a special committee of experts is in the process of being formed. The spokesperson further informed that a special training centre would be operationalised for this purpose. The spokesperson also elaborated that this training would prove beneficial for the teachers of more than 400 ITIs, 164 polytechnics and 105 engineering institutions of the state.
