Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Seat of Women Empowerment with Top National and State Rankings by India Today Survey of Best Colleges 2020 (various categories) participated in a district level function organised by Municipal Corporation Jalandhar to mark the ending of a month long campaign under My Waste My Responsibility.

On this occasion, Municipal Corporation Jalandhar honoured the stupendous contribution of Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi to the cause of Smart City ranking by virtue of regular awareness campaigns and drives. It is important to mention that under the able guidance of Principal Prof Dr Atima Sharma Dwivedi, KMV has been spreading awareness on various environmental issues in the society by organising cleanliness drives, tree plantation drives & also using social media platform to spread awareness on these issues. Along with madam Principal, Mrs. Harpreet Kaur, Head, P.G. Department of Fashion Designing and NSS Incharge Mrs. Ashima Sahni were also felicitated for their contribution to this campaign. 

Principal Prof Dr Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that the people of India need to follow Gandhi’s ideology of cleanliness and we at KMV always strives to sensitise students and citizens of Jalandhar  to become better citizens and contribute to the welfare of the society and also to make Jalandhar the best city and  a role model of clean and green city. This program was attended by many distinguished luminaries namely M.P. Sh. Santokh Singh Chowdary, Sh. Jagdish Raj Raja, Mayor Jalandhar, Sh. Karnesh Sharma, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Mrs. Inayat Gupta, Joint Commissioner Jalandhar, SDM-I Sh. Jiainder & SDM-II Sh. Ravi Sindhu.
