Prestigious Recognition for PCM S.D. College for Women in National Publication on Environmental Sustainability
PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar has achieved a momentous honour by securing a place among the best 32 institutions featured in the national-level book titled “From Awareness to Action: Lessons from the 30-Day Environment Challenge”, published by the National EduTrust of India. This publication, a pioneering initiative under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India, acknowledges innovative and action-oriented environmental initiatives undertaken by educational institutions across the nation.

Jalandhar, May 22, 2025: PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar has achieved a momentous honour by securing a place among the best 32 institutions featured in the national-level book titled “From Awareness to Action: Lessons from the 30-Day Environment Challenge”, published by the National EduTrust of India. This publication, a pioneering initiative under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India, acknowledges innovative and action-oriented environmental initiatives undertaken by educational institutions across the nation.
The College’s participation in the 30-Day Environment Challenge, conducted from 7th August to 5th September, has been lauded for its impactful activities, practical implementation, and commitment to building a sustainable future. The case study titled “30 Days for a Greener Planet” was authored by Nodal Officer Dr. Divya Budhia Gupta with support from Coordinator Dr. Jyoti Sharma and other dedicated members of the Eco Club team—Shevta Mahajan, Muskaan Kalra, and Prachi. The report captures a range of meaningful and well-executed daily eco-friendly practices carried out by students and staff, such as composting, sustainable food choices, energy and water conservation, waste audits, and community awareness drives.
The published book highlights how PCM S.D. College has successfully fostered environmental consciousness and empowered students as future green leaders. It also reflects on the innovative strategies and collective enthusiasm shown by the Eco-Friendly Environment Cell throughout the challenge.
Prof. (Dr.) Pooja Prashar, Principal of the college, expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the tireless efforts of the students and the Eco Club team, emphasizing how such recognition inspires the entire institution to further its commitment to environmental stewardship.
In the concluding note, President Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Vinod Dada, the other honourable members of the Managing Committee, and the Principal lauded the commendable efforts of the Eco Club team for bringing this prestigious accolade to the college. They expressed immense pride in the college’s role in championing sustainability and environmental responsibility at the national level.
