Ludhiana, July 25, 2026: Senior leader and former councillor Parminder Mehta reacted to the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, stating that the resignation symbolises the emergence of a new India and reflects the extraordinary courage shown by students throughout the movement.
He said that the student movement received support and solidarity from opposition parties across the country as well as from people around the world in various forms, and that this widespread backing played a crucial role in its success.
Mehta further said that despite the alleged brutality by police personnel, including against women protesters, women stood their ground with remarkable strength during the movement. He described their resilience as a strong pillar of the "New India."
He added that the movement would continue and would contribute to building a new and prosperous India.
