Power, Water Crisis Leave Ansal Town Residents in Jagadhari Frustrated
Residents of Ansal Town, Sector-20, Jagadhari, faced severe inconvenience on Saturday as prolonged power and water disruptions affected normal life across different residential schemes of the township.
Jagadhari (Haryana), July 11, 2026: Residents of Ansal Town, Sector-20, Jagadhari, faced severe inconvenience on Saturday as prolonged power and water disruptions affected normal life across different residential schemes of the township.
According to residents, electricity supply in Scheme-1 remained disrupted since the morning and had not been restored till the time of reporting. Local residents alleged that they were informed the outage was caused by a fault in an underground power cable, making immediate restoration unlikely.
Residents said the matter had been brought to the attention of concerned officials. However, they claimed that no definite timeline for restoring power had been communicated.
The situation was equally difficult in Scheme-3, where the water supply reportedly remained suspended throughout the day. Residents said they were informed that there was no assurance of water supply being restored even by Sunday evening, leaving many families worried about meeting their basic daily needs.
Several residents expressed disappointment over the recurring utility failures, stating that the infrastructure in the township had failed to keep pace with the needs of the growing population. They remarked that such conditions were once associated with remote villages many years ago, but are now being experienced in a modern residential colony.
"Years ago, power cuts after a slight spell of rain or strong winds were common in villages. It is unfortunate that a planned township is now facing similar problems," said one resident, requesting anonymity.
Residents from Schemes 1, 2 and 3 shared differing experiences but agreed that uninterrupted electricity and water supply are essential civic services that require immediate attention. Many urged the concerned departments and maintenance agency (SEMS) to resolve the technical issues without further delay and improve the reliability of the utility network.
The prolonged disruption has affected household activities, drinking water availability and the comfort of residents, particularly children, senior citizens and patients.
Residents have appealed to the concerned authorities to take urgent corrective measures, restore essential services at the earliest and establish a more reliable infrastructure to prevent similar incidents in the future.
