Play `Mere Lok’ depicted theory of system and stress on 2nd day of 10th National Natyam Festival

The team from Punjabi University Patiala under the direction of Dr. Jaspal Kaur Deol presented play in Bathinda
Bathinda, October 2, 2021: Under the direction of Dr. Jaspal Kaur Deol, the team from Department of Theater and Television, Punjabi University, Patiala, presented the play ‘Mere Lok’ written by Dr. Gurpreet Singh Rataul, on the second day of the 10th National Natyam Mela being held at Balwant Gargi Open Air Theatre, Bathinda. The play addressed the inter-relationship between the ‘System and Stress’, and coveys the idea that an inadequate system causes stress to the people, and making them suffer mental and physical illness. The protagonist Dr. Chetan is a cardiologist, who charges very less fee, but this became the reason for many problems to him, even then he continued his service and inspires others as well.
After presenting the play, Dr. Jaspal Kaur Deol said that during the play, timely silence and applause of the audience of Bathinda city was reflecting their attention and interest towards the theater, hence, it was a pleasure to perform here. On this occasion, DSP Gurjit Singh Romana, renowned stage director and writer Dr. Nirmal Jauda, and famous theater artist Dr. Hira Randhawa, praised the efforts made by Natyam in organizing such a grand event. They also congratulated director Kirti Kripal and his team for putting in sincere efforts.
