Photo exhibition on the legacy of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama
The H.H. Dalai Lama Chair, Panjab University, in collaboration with the Tibetan Government-in-Exile, today hosted a day-long photo exhibition at PU Student Centre on the legacy of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.
Chandigarh November 18, 2025: The H.H. Dalai Lama Chair, Panjab University, in collaboration with the Tibetan Government-in-Exile, today hosted a day-long photo exhibition at PU Student Centre on the legacy of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.
The photo exhibition was inaugurated by the PU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Renu Vig. The other esteemed dignitaries included Lama Yeshe Rabgaye, Head of Prajna Wellbeing Centre, Chandigarh; Professor Anil Sarwal, Head of Bahai Centre, Chandigarh; Professor Emeritus Harjit Singh Gill, JNU; Professor I.D. Gaur; and Kamal Malhi, founder of Bodhicitta Centre, Chandigarh.
Addressing the audience, Professor Renu Vig, highlighted the importance of such activities and events in promoting peace and harmony in the University. The welcome address was given by Professor Paru Bal Sidhu, Coordinator, H.H. the Dalai Lama Chair, on behalf of Panjab University, and by Mr Rinchen on behalf of the Tibetan Government-in-Exile.
Professor Paru Bal Sidhu thanked the Tibetan people and His Holiness the Dalai Lama for advocating the message of peace and non-violence, for which His Holiness was also conferred the Nobel Peace Prize, and she further stated that the Dalai Lama Chair of Panjab University would organise more such events in future to promote the message of peace of His Holiness.
The exhibition was warmly appreciated by the dignitaries, faculty members and students of Panjab University, and school children of the tricity. The exhibition was on till 5:00 PM and witnessed a steady flow of viewers throughout the day.
This year marks the 90th birthday of the Dalai Lama and, to commemorate this occasion, the Central Tibetan Administration, with its headquarters at McLeod Ganj, has dedicated this year as the Year of Compassion, with celebrations being held across India and abroad. This exhibition is part of this celebration.
