Congratulating people on 74th Republic Day, Sanjeev Arora, MP (Rajya Sabha) has said Republic Day is celebrated on January 26 every year to commemorate the country's Constitution coming into effect on the same date in 1950. Thus, this day is a day of national pride for all the countrymen.

Ludhiana, January 25, 2023: Congratulating people on 74th Republic Day, Sanjeev Arora, MP (Rajya Sabha) has said Republic Day is celebrated on January 26 every year to commemorate the country's Constitution coming into effect on the same date in 1950. Thus, this day is a day of national pride for all the countrymen. 

In a statement here today, he said the Indian Constitution lays down the framework of the government and the rights and duties of citizens. It also guarantees the fundamental rights of citizens, such as the right to equality, freedom of speech and expression, and the right to life and liberty.

Adding, he said the Constitution of India is the supreme law of the land, and the day reminds us of the importance of the Constitution and the role of citizens in preserving and strengthening the country's democratic principles. 

He said the day is also a reminder of the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters, adding, “It is a day to remember the Constitution and the role of citizens in building a strong and united nation.” 

Further, he said Punjabis have played a great role in freedom struggle of the country. He therefore, asked people of Punjab to reaffirm their commitment to building a strong, united and prosperous nation on this day.
