People of Punjab need to understand the intentions of BJP and AAP: Sukhjinder Randhawa

Chandigarh, April 25, 2026: Former Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab and Member of Parliament from Gurdaspur, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), alleging that both parties are two sides of the same coin and are working to weaken democratic institutions in the country. He said that for the sake of power, both parties are ignoring constitutional values. He stressed that the people of Punjab need to understand the propaganda of BJP and AAP.
Randhawa stated that in the current circumstances, only the Indian National Congress is capable of protecting the Constitution and is committed to strengthening the democratic framework. He appealed not only to the people of Punjab but to citizens across the country to support Congress in order to safeguard democracy and constitutional institutions and to defeat what he described as BJP’s conspiracies.
The former Deputy Chief Minister alleged that AAP MPs, including Raghav Chadha, Ashok Mittal, and Sandeep Pathak, along with others, are helping promote a “single-party rule” of BJP and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He claimed that BJP not only aims to increase its numbers in Parliament and state assemblies to pass bills at will but is also working to eliminate smaller and regional parties, with a particular focus on weakening the opposition.
He further alleged that government agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) are being misused to intimidate leaders of various parties and coerce them into joining BJP. He said that the public mandate is being “looted” and disrespected. He added that Congress has always raised its voice to protect the Constitution and is the only party capable of safeguarding it.
Randhawa also claimed that AAP, which he described as BJP’s “B-team,” had built a “castle of lies” against Congress, which is now collapsing under its own weight. He said that for ten years, AAP made baseless allegations against Congress in an attempt to portray it as corrupt. Now, according to him, the foundation of that party is beginning to crumble. He concluded by saying that two wrongs do not make a right, and that Punjab can only be saved by strengthening Congress.
