Ludhiana, February 7, 2023: PCTE Group of Institutes organized a Post Budget Analysis session on the proposals in Union Budget 2023-24. The event was embarked by some eminent speakers from the industry including CMA Anil Sharma, Former President of CMA, Chandigarh, Office Bearer of CMA North India Chapter, CA (Dr) Aman Chugh, Consultant & Trainer to Fortune 500 Companies and CMA, CS Rohit Jindal, Sr. Accounts Officer, PSPCL, Ludhiana and former lecturer in commerce. Students actively took part in the discussion and raised various queries on the impact of Hindenburg's report on FDI in India and Adani group in particular, increased allocation to MNREGA etc.
 
CMA Anil Sharma started the budget analysis with allocations to various sectors like 5.94 lac crore for defence and 2.41 lac crore railways, reduced allocation for agriculture, the disappointment of the Insurance sector and the discouraging saving in the Overall budget.
 
CA (Dr.) Aman Chugh brought forward the international perspective on budget analysis. He discussed the impact of increased capital expenditure on the economy and how it will create demand for various factors of production in various industries.
 
CMA Rohit Jindal talked about changes in the tax slabs and its impact on salaried class in different income brackets along with the comparison of new and old tax regimes.
 
Dr. Rajpreet Chhatwal, Director, PCTE said that the event emphasized on the increase in capital expenditure and its multiplier effect on the economy and  how the government is pushing for new tax regime as it has been made lucrative and on par with old tax regime although people in old tax regime are disappointed as no major change for them. He concluded that discussion forums like these provide a lot of exposure to the students about the direction of the Indian economy, its priority areas and its impact on various industries.
 
Dr. K. N. S Kang, Director General, PCTE Group of Institutes appreciated the enthusiasm with which students participated in the discussion. He further added that this discussion would expose students to the pros and cons of the Budget.
