PCTE Group of Institutes Holds ‘Run for Youth Empowerment’

With India recognised as one of the youngest nations globally, the PCTE Group of Institutes organised a 2K marathon titled ‘Run for Youth Empowerment’, aligning campus activity with the national focus on youth leadership, health, and civic responsibility.The marathon witnessed participation of over 1,000 students from various departments, along with faculty members and college staff. Notably, over 400 first-year students participated for the first time, reflecting early engagement and confidence among young learners.

Ludhiana, February 23, 2026: With India recognised as one of the youngest nations globally, the PCTE Group of Institutes organised a 2K marathon titled ‘Run for Youth Empowerment’, aligning campus activity with the national focus on youth leadership, health, and civic responsibility.The marathon witnessed participation of over 1,000 students from various departments, along with faculty members and college staff. Notably, over 400 first-year students participated for the first time, reflecting early engagement and confidence among young learners.
Participation reflected a balanced representation across genders, underlying PCTE’s commitment to inclusive and equal student involvement. Students from Journalism, Engineering, Management, Commerce, and Fashion Design departments took part actively, showcasing unity beyond academic boundaries.
The event formed part of PCTE’s annual Run for Cause, which adopts socially relevant themes each year. Youth Empowerment was chosen as the central theme this year, highlighting the institute’s priority of nurturing responsible and confident citizens.At the finish line, organisers recorded the completion time of each participant and assigned ranks based on performance, ensuring transparency and fairness. Faculty members and security staff stood along the route and at the finishing point, cheering and motivating participants throughout the run.
Commenting on the occasion, Harpreet Kaur Kang, Dean – International Affairs, said,
“The ‘Run for Youth Empowerment’ reflects PCTE’s commitment to building confident, disciplined, and socially responsible youth. Such initiatives encourage students to adopt healthy lifestyles while understanding their role in contributing positively to society.”
The event concluded on an encouraging note, reinforcing the importance of fitness, discipline, and social awareness as key components of holistic education.
