PCM S.D. College for Women celebrates Mother Tongue Day

Jalandhar, February 21, 2026: Poster Making Competition on ‘Importance of Mother Tongue’ was organized by Punjabi Department of PCM S.D. College for Women and PCM S.D. Collegiate Senior Secondary School for Girls, Jalandhar.
31 students from different classes participated in this competition. The objective of this competition was to give students an opportunity to showcase their creative potential and connect them with Punjabi language.
The judge of this competition was Ashima Chopra (Head, Fine Art Department). In this competition, Narayani of B.A. Semester II secured the first position. Ashu of B.A. B.Ed Semester II secured the second position and Garima of B.Com. Semester VI secured the third position. Apart from this, Aditi of B.Com. Semester IV secured the consolation prize. Almost all the students of class XI of the Collegiate Block participated in this competition in which Bhumika (Commerce) won first place, Gurleen Rana (Non-Medical) won second place, Drishti (Arts) won third place and the consolation prize was won by Ekta (Medical).
President Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Vinod Dada, other members of the managing committee and Principal Dr Pooja Prashar applauded the achievers and also appreciated the Department for organizing such competition. Sushma Sharma, Monika Sharma, Akwinder Kaur and Ruhi Arora were present on this occasion at the Collegiate Block.
