Passenger Service Day Celebrated at Kangra Airport
Kangra Airport celebrated Passenger Service Day on Wednesday as part of the Airports Authority of India’s (AAI) nationwide Passenger Service and Facilitation initiative. The event combined cultural programmes, environmental drives, health services, and educational activities, creating a memorable experience for travelers.
Dharamshala, September 17, 2025: Kangra Airport celebrated Passenger Service Day on Wednesday as part of the Airports Authority of India’s (AAI) nationwide Passenger Service and Facilitation initiative. The event combined cultural programmes, environmental drives, health services, and educational activities, creating a memorable experience for travelers.
The day began with a traditional Tilak Swagat for 275 passengers arriving on four flights. A tree plantation drive under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign was held in the herbal garden and city-side areas, with the participation of DC Kangra, SP Kangra, SDM Shahpur, senior citizens, and passengers.
Dr. Rajiv Bhardwaj, MP from Kangra, graced the occasion, joining the plantation drive, encouraging artists from Kangra Lok Kala Manch, and interacting with airport staff. Himachali folk dances performed at the terminal drew special appreciation from passengers, with several foreign tourists enthusiastically joining the celebrations.
Passengers also took part in a photo booth activity, while schoolchildren participated in a patriotic quiz and painting competition. A health camp organized with Fortis Hospital provided free check-ups for 58 passengers, while SM Eye Hospital, Mataur, conducted eye screenings for 106 taxi drivers and staff. A voluntary blood donation camp, held in collaboration with Dr. Rajendra Prasad Medical College, Tanda, collected 23 units of blood.
As part of educational outreach, 45 students from local government schools toured airport facilities and learned about careers in civil aviation.
Passengers praised the cultural performances, health services, and staff hospitality. A local influencer also broadcasted the event online, showcasing Kangra Airport as a hub of service, culture, and community engagement.
