Partition Pain Comes Alive on SUPVA Posters, Students Call for Peace and Brotherhood
The pain of the 1947 Partition came alive through powerful posters at a poster-making competition on the theme ‘Vibhajan Vibhishika’ at Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA) here on Monday.

Rohtak, August 31, 2026: The pain of the 1947 Partition came alive through powerful posters at a poster-making competition on the theme ‘Vibhajan Vibhishika’ at Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA) here on Monday.
Students depicted displacement, violence, separated families and the suffering of refugees, while also delivering messages of peace, unity and communal harmony. Six students—Aman, Kangna, Ekta, Nikunj, Rakhi and Hemant Kumar—received encouragement awards for their outstanding entries.
The competition was organised by the Dean Students Welfare at the Seminar Hall of the Faculty of Planning and Architecture. Haryana Sahitya and Sanskriti Akademi director Dr Dharmdev Vidyarthi was the chief guest, while Youth Welfare Coordinator Narendra Singh was the special guest. Vice-Chancellor Dr Amit Arya presided over the event.
Dean Students Welfare Vinay Kumar said remembering the tragedy of Partition was not aimed at creating hatred, but at learning from history to prevent such tragedies in the future. Students used messages such as “Ekta Mein Shakti Hai”, “Nafrat Nahi, Bhaichara Chahiye” and “Itihas Se Seekhen, Bhavishya Sanvarein” to promote brotherhood and harmony.
The judging panel evaluated the posters on creativity, content, presentation, clarity of message and artistic appeal.
Vice-Chancellor Dr Amit Arya said the Partition tragedy underlined the importance of humanity, tolerance and unity. Students also pledged to work towards strengthening social harmony and national unity.
