Panjab University to Host KAVACH 3.0, Two-Day Fest on Defence and Security Studies
Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, through its Department of Defence and National Security Studies, is organising the third edition of its two-day annual fest, KAVACH 3.0 (Ranniti Ka Rangmanch), on April 9 and 10.

Chandigarh, April 8, 2026: Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, through its Department of Defence and National Security Studies, is organising the third edition of its two-day annual fest, KAVACH 3.0 (Ranniti Ka Rangmanch), on April 9 and 10.
The event will be held at the Student Centre (StuC) and adjoining university grounds, bringing together elements of military discipline and academic engagement. The inaugural ceremony is scheduled for April 9 at 11:15 AM and will be attended by Prof. Renu Vig, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University. Shri Saurabh Joshi, Mayor, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, and Maj. Gen. Bharat Mehtani, ADG NCC, Directorate (Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh), will be present as special guests.
The fest will feature key attractions including an Army Dog Show on April 9 at 12:00 PM and an Army Horse Show on April 10 at 11:30 AM, both at the UBS Ground. An extensive weapon display will remain open to visitors from 10:00 AM on both days. NCC activities are scheduled for the second day, highlighting the skills and training of student cadets.
Organised under the guidance of Prof. Jaskaran Singh Waraich, Chairperson of the department, KAVACH 3.0 aims to provide students and the public with exposure to India’s military heritage and contemporary security practices, while reinforcing Panjab University’s engagement with defence education and national service.
