Panjab University to host FDP on “How to Develop a Technology”

Chandigarh, April 5, 2022: Technology Enabling, Panjab University in collaboration with Human Resource Development Centre, Panjab University is hosting “Faculty Development Program” on “How to Develop a Technology from 05th April, 2022 to 11th April, 2022 to channelize research efforts.

The FDP aims to take the participants through all steps of development of technology beginning from need assessment, market research, literature survey, signing non-disclosure agreement, writing compelling proposal, framing consultancy agreement and finally to transfer of technology. Different sessions will be delivered by the entrepreneurs, industrialists, scientists, academicians and lawyers in order to facilitate research work and promote industry-academia relationship.
The 7-day program started on 05th April, 2022 where Prof. Manu Sharma initiated the program sharing his thoughts on the topic “Contacting industry, assessing needs of industry and choosing something to innovate/ work on”.
The program advanced with Er. Ankush Gawri, Dr. Gurpreet Singh and Dr. Sahil Kapoor sharing the industrial problems mined by Technology Enabling Centre, Punjab University during their industrial visits with the participating faculty members. Further, Mr. Narinder Singh Jassal from CSIO delivered a virtual session sharing active funding scheme-“PRISM.”
Mr. H.S. Cheema (MD, Cheema Boilers) and Mr. J P Kundra from Cheema Boilers discussed research work undertaken by them and guided the faculty regarding market research. “We have to develop technology with the mindset that it’s high time to jump into the technology battlefield in order to serve the nation”, Mr. Cheema said.
Participants from the subjects of Chemistry, Physics, Engineering and Anthropology are attending the program.
