Recognised globally for its consistent presence in the Stanford List of Top 2% Scientists since 2019, Panjab University is a leader in this field, with 51 scientists featured in the 2025 edition — a significant indicator of its robust research culture and international scholarly impact.

The initiative is being organised under the leadership of Prof. Renu Vig, Vice-Chancellor, Panjab University, with the support of Prof. Meenakshi Goyal, Director, Research and Development Cell (RDC). The workshop is part of the University’s broader endeavour to strengthen research visibility, impact, and global collaboration.

As part of an ongoing awareness series, the initiative will be conducted in phases. Phase I will cover departments such as Anthropology, Physics, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Zoology, Mathematics, and Computer Science & Applications, and will later extend to Social Sciences, Arts & Humanities, and Engineering & Technology.

The PU spokesperson informed that through this capacity-building effort, the University seeks to inspire and equip its faculty members and research scholars to reach new benchmarks of excellence and increase the University’s representation in future editions of the Stanford Top 2% Scientists list.
