Panjab University Institute of Global Studies Organises Heritage Tour to Capitol Complex

Chandigarh, 28 November 2025: The Panjab University Institute of Global Studies (PUIGS), in association with the MN Sharma Architectural Society, organised a guided heritage tour to the Capitol Complex, Chandigarh, under its initiative ‘Learn Beyond Books’. The event aimed to provide business administration students with experiential learning outside the traditional classroom setting.

Faculty coordinator Kiran Sharma highlighted that the visit was a unique opportunity for students to broaden their horizons and apply theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios. She expressed her gratitude to the Dean of University Instruction, Prof. Yojna Rawat, for her invaluable guidance and support in making the event a success.

Speaking on behalf of the student team, coordinators Gurjot Kaur, Adishree Verma, Anvi Sharma, Himanshu Bhalla, Arshvir Singh, and Sawraj Kataria shared that the tour offered valuable insights into principles of management, leadership, and organisational structure through the perspective of historical and architectural heritage. They observed that exploring the Capitol Complex helped students appreciate the significance of planning, design thinking, and effective governance—skills directly relevant to their academic and professional development.

Interactive sessions during the tour encouraged participants to analyse how heritage sites are managed, preserved, and promoted, providing real-world examples of project management, public administration, and tourism marketing. Students noted that this exposure not only enriched their curriculum but also enhanced critical thinking, teamwork, and cultural appreciation.
