Chandigarh, June 5, 2022: Panjab University in its Senate Meeting held today deliberated on all the agenda items and approved the following.

            The agenda for the change in nomenclature from MBA (Executive) to Master of Business Administration (MBA) along with Regulation and rules was unanimously approved.

            In another agenda item, the roster for the post of Associate Professors was unanimously approved which was highly appreciated by most of the fellows.

            In another agenda item regarding restarting B.Com Course at Panjab University Regional Centre, Kauni and introduction of new subjects i.e. Music Vocal Fine Arts, Comparative studies of Religion in BA Course for the Academic Session 2022-23 was also approved.

            In another agenda item, B.Voc. (Software Development), B.Voc. (Hardware and Networking) and B.Voc. Multimedia (Graphics and Animations) with at least 50%, be added in the eligibility criteria for Advanced Diploma in Computer Applications (being run in USOL) from the academic session 2022-23 was also approved.

            The Senate also approved the eligibility conditions for M.Sc. Home Science (Clothing & Textiles), M.Sc. Home Science (Human Development), M.Sc. Home Science (Foods & Nutrition), Post Graduate Diploma in Nutrition & Dietetics and change in the nomenclature of course B.Sc. Home Science (Human Development and Family Relations) to B.Sc. Home Science (Human Development).

            In another major decision, the number of seats in the course of M.A. Sanskrit were decreased from 68 to 40 was approved. This was debated at length.

            In another decision, University Institute of Applied Management Sciences and University Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism to independently run the Ph.D. Course in Applied Management and Sectoral domains from the session 2022-23 was approved.

            The Senate also approved the increase of 7.5% (Maximum to Rs. 7500) fee structure for the partially Self Financing Courses while a maximum of Rs. 500/- for the traditional courses in University Teaching Departments, and its Regional Centres/Constituent Colleges of the Panjab University for the session 2022- 2023 except students belonging to SC/ST and EWS category.

            The Senate also approved the proposed fee hike for the session 2022- 2023 in respect of all affiliated colleges of Panjab University to a maximum of 10% (Upto Rs.1000/-) except students belonging to SC/ST and EWS category.

            The Senate also approved the examination fees to a maximum of Rs. 1000/- and minimum of Rs. 200/-.
