Chandigarh, July 15, 2026: Dr. S. S. Bhatnagar University Institute of Chemical Engineering & Technology (Dr. SSBUICET), Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh welcomed Prof. JY Kim, Head of Renewable Energy at the Samarkand Institute of Science & Technology, Uzbekistan for a month-long academic and research collaboration aimed at strengthening international partnerships in cutting-edge scientific research.
The visit commenced with an interactive session between Prof. Kim and the faculty members of Dr. SSBUICET, providing a platform for meaningful discussions on emerging trends and collaborative opportunities in material science and sustainable energy technologies. The interaction marked the beginning of a month dedicated to knowledge exchange, research collaboration, and innovation.
During the inaugural session, Prof. Kim and the faculty deliberated on several key areas that are shaping the future of clean energy. These included high-efficiency Perovskite solar cells as promising alternatives to conventional silicon-based Photovoltaic; advancements in polymer physics for the development of flexible and organic electronic devices; and interdisciplinary approaches to scaling renewable energy systems for global sustainability.
Dr. SSBUICET Chairperson, Prof. Anupama Thakur emphasized that such international academic collaborations provide valuable opportunities for faculty members and research scholars to engage with internationally renowned experts and significantly enhance the global research profile of PU.
Prof. Kim is set to deliver a series of expert lectures, interact closely with postgraduate students and research scholars and work with the faculty to develop joint research proposals, collaborative publications and long-term academic partnerships between Dr. SSBUICET and the Samarkand Institute of Science & Technology, Uzbekistan.
