Pak-linked drug racket busted in border district; Heroin, ice drug and pistol recovered, three held
Exposing a Pakistan-linked narcotics network operating through drone deliveries, the sleuths of the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) and district police have arrested three alleged smugglers in two separate operations and recovered 10.125 kg heroin, 2 kg ICE drug (Crystal Methamphetamine) and a .30 bore pistol from their possession.
Ferozepur, May 20, 2026: Exposing a Pakistan-linked narcotics network operating through drone deliveries, the sleuths of the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) and district police have arrested three alleged smugglers in two separate operations and recovered 10.125 kg heroin, 2 kg ICE drug (Crystal Methamphetamine) and a .30 bore pistol from their possession.
Divulging details, Sanehdeep Sharma DIG (Ferozepur Range) said that acting on specific inputs, the CIA team apprehended Om alias Omi, a resident of Leli Wala village, near Khai Pheme Ke village and recovered 10.125 kg heroin from his possession. A case under Sections 21, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Sadar police station.
In another operation, the police have arrested Aniket Kumar and Sumit from the Talli Saida Shahu link road while they were travelling on a motorcycle. During the checking, the police recovered 2 kg ICE drug and a .30 bore pistol from their possession. Both the accused have been booked under the NDPS Act and Arms Act at Arif Ke police station.
The DIG said that preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused were allegedly in contact with Pakistan-based smugglers and had received the consignments with the help of drones from across the border.
