In continuation to their tradition of setting high benchmarks in competitive examinations, around 133 students from the Central University of Punjab have achieved exceptional results in the NET/JRF Examinations.

Outstanding Performance by 133 Central University of Punjab Students in NET/JRF Examinations

Bathinda, August 12, 2023: In continuation to their tradition of setting high benchmarks in competitive examinations, around 133 students from the Central University of Punjab have achieved exceptional results in the NET/JRF Examinations. These examinations are designed to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for positions as 'Assistant Professors' and 'Junior Research Fellows and Assistant Professors' in Indian universities and colleges. Among these 133 students, a remarkable 131 students representing 24 diverse departments of the university have demonstrated their excellence by successfully qualifying for Junior Research Fellowships and/or Assistant Professorship eligibility in the UGC-NET December 2022-June 2023/Joint-CSIR UGC-NET December 2022-June 2023 Examinations. The official exam results were declared by the NTA in April and July 2023. Furthermore, two CUPB students have qualified in the ICMR-JRF/DBT JRF Exams conducted between December 2022 and July 2023.
 

Out of overall count of 133 students, 29 have secured the prestigious Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), while 104 have earned eligibility for the Assistant Professorship position by qualifying NET. It is also worth mentioning that 32 students have achieved the distinction of qualifying NET/JRF in the first year of Post Graduation studies.

 
In these exams, a maximum of 16 students qualifies each from the Department of English and Dept. of Psychology. Subsequently, 11 students qualify from the Department of Botany, 10 from Dept. of Physical Education, 9 each from Dept. of Law and Dept. of Zoology. The remaining 62 successful students in the aforementioned examinations come from other Departments including Punjabi, Education, Chemistry, Mass Communication and Media Studies, South and Central Asian Studies, Human Genetics and Molecular Medicine, Library and Information Sciences, Financial Administration, Geography, Physics, Microbiology, Geology, Hindi, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Natural Products, Biochemistry, Computational Sciences, Environment Sciences and Technology, and Performing Arts (Theatre). 
 

On this occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari extends his heartfelt congratulations to the students for bringing laurels to the university.  He stated that it is a moment of immense pride for us as a substantial number of students have qualified for UGC-NET/JRF and CSIR NET/JRF Examinations. Prof. Tiwari mentioned that this notable accomplishment is the outcome of recently introduced innovative reforms that encompasses LOCF based curriculum development, student centric pedagogies, and an innovative teaching-learning and evaluation process. He attributed this success to the dedicated efforts of faculty members, whose guidance has been instrumental in propelling CUPB students towards this remarkable milestone.
