Open Health Gym inaugurated at Lyallpur Khalsa College
Jalandhar, July 2, 2019: An open health Gym has been inaugurated in the multi faceted Sports Stadium of Lyallpur Khalsa College as part of the social initiatives undertaken by the institution. College Principal Dr.Gurpinder Singh Samra inaugurated the open health gym and stressed the ever growing need of physical fitness in the fast paced world of today. He also highlighted the importance of fresh air and open clean surroundings as imperative ingredients of fitness programs as the basic idea behind the establishment of an open health gym in the college sports stadium which shall be open to all citizens of the area. It was also informed that the gym is made up of 14 latest health equipments including the Horse rider, Abdominal Double, Cross trainer, leg press double, air walker, pull down double, chest press double, rowing, twiter triple, chin up flossier dipping, shoulder wheel, battle rope with frame, hyper extension and leg extension subsequently proving to be the first ever initiative of its kind in the whole region. An acupressure track has also been planned to be laid as the next project in the same direction. Principal Dr. GS Samra congratulated Dr. Simranjeet Singh Bains, Dean (Sports) and his entire team for their efforts regarding the set up of this gym. The inauguration was also witnessed by Dr. Jaspal Singh, Head, Department of Physical Education, Dr. Tarsem Singh, Prof. Gitanjali Moudgill, Prof. Gagandeep Singh, Prof. Palwinder Singh, Prof. Satpal Singh, Prof. Harbinder Kaur along with other members of staff.
