Online Value Added Course on “Introduction to Indian Art” 

Chandigarh, March 28, 2023: An Online Value Added Course on “Introduction to Indian Art” is organized in collaboration with RUSA (Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan) and UIAMS, Panjab University, Chandigarh from 25th March till 8th April. The basic premise of this course is that “Art is a State of Consciousness of the person experiencing the art and also of the person making the art”. It also focuses on exploring and expressing their ideas and concepts through painting, visual art etc. This course is designed to emphasis on the basic understanding of the principles and sources of various Indian art forms of the past and present during the process of art-making. 

Various eminent personalities from diverse fields like Professor Tirthankar Bhattacharya, Professor in History of Art in the Department of Art History & Visual Arts ( Fine Arts ) at the Panjab University Chandigarh Prof. Him Chatarjee, Chairman at Department of Visual Arts and  founder of Sanat Art foundation. Dr Pooja Sharma, Head, Department of Fine Arts, MCM DAV College for Women. Namita Jaspal, Conservation Consultant for Department of Culture, Museums and Archaeology, Punjab.

Lippi Parida, a renowned a painter, sculptor, sand& rock artist, photographer & author and Sanjana Sharma, founder of Paintersden Art works and  has commissioned various art works for Government of Punjab and Haryana  will be delivering lectures in online mode during this course.

Prof. Davinder Singh Chairperson, Department of Laws, was the Chief Guest in the inaugural session. Dr. Aman Khera, Coordinator and Prof. Monika Aggarwal, Director UIAMS, welcomed the resource persons and all the participants who have joined this online Value Added Course.
