Online registration of electoral literacy clubs to be held

Ludhiana: To ensure that the voter awareness drive is being carried out in a much effective manner, the Election Commission of India is carrying out online registration of the Electoral Literacy Clubs. A district-level workshop in this regard was organised at Bachat Bhawan, here today and regional level master trainers were trained. The training was given by master trainer Mr Deepak Saini and Mr Harbilas Heer.

It is pertinent to mention that the Election Commission of India (ECI) is organising a mega voter awareness drive in the country. The ECI has decided to hold this drive before celebrating the National Voter Day on January 25, 2020. The Electoral Literacy Clubs are being active to ensure that this drive is successful and that is why, their online registration is being done.

In district Ludhiana, chunav paathshala’s, clubs in 151 schools and 40 colleges have already been set up at booth level. The online registration of all these clubs would be done now.

Prominent among those present on the occasion included Election Kanugo Mr Barjinder Singh, Mr Ashwani Kumar, besides several others.
