Ludhiana, October 28, 2026: On the appointment of Deepak Hans as Vice Chairman of the Scheduled Castes (SC) Department of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC), Pawan Dewan, former Chairman of the Punjab Large Industrial Development Board and former General Secretary of Punjab Congress, congratulated him by handing over his appointment letter and offering sweets.
Pawan Dewan said that Deepak Hans had served the party in various capacities and had consistently raised his voice for addressing the issues and concerns of the Dalit community. He added that his appointment as Vice Chairman of the state Congress SC Department ahead of the Punjab Assembly elections would further strengthen the party.
On the occasion, Deepak Hans expressed his gratitude to Pawan Dewan, Gurpreet Singh (Lucky Pakho), Chairman of the Punjab Congress SC Department, and the entire party leadership. Hans said that every section of society was troubled by the policies of the present government and expressed confidence that the Congress party would form the government in Punjab in the 2027 Assembly elections. He assured that he would discharge the responsibilities entrusted to him by the party with utmost dedication, sincerity and honesty.
