One Nation One Election: A Vision for India's Political Landscape
Author.

In the wake of India's hard-fought battle for independence from British colonial rule, the country embarked on its democratic journey. The years 1952, 1957, 1962, and 1967 marked significant milestones as India held simultaneous elections for its Parliament and State Assemblies. Now, the prospect of once again synchronizing these elections is gaining momentum. The idea of holding Parliamentary and State Assembly Elections concurrently has reemerged, with proponents arguing that it could yield substantial savings for the State Exchequer. However, the political landscape is diverse, with leaders from various parties expressing contrasting opinions.
The recent special session of Parliament being held in September has generated numerous questions and discussions surrounding the concept of 'One Nation One Election.' To delve deeper into the feasibility of this idea, the government has established a committee, chaired by former President of India, Ram Nath Kovind.

G20 SUMMIT - INDIA'S ASCENT TO GLOBAL PROMINENCE
The G20 summit is scheduled to commence on September 9, 2023, spanning two days and welcoming representatives from member and guest nations alike. The focus of this meeting will center on economic reforms. India's achievements in fields such as space exploration and indigenous defense manufacturing have garnered international attention. As India continues to exhibit robust growth across various sectors and industries, it is on the path to becoming a global superpower, often referred to as 'Vishwa Guru.'

I.N.D.I.A. vs. N.D.A.: THE POLITICAL CHESSBOARD
Behind closed doors, discussions are underway among I.N.D.I.A. Allies, as they aspire to unite behind a single candidate to challenge the N.D.A. candidate in the forthcoming elections. It remains uncertain whether these allies will maintain their unity or if India will witness a shift in political loyalties in the lead-up to the Parliament Elections. The N.D.A. is set to project Narendra Modi as its prime ministerial candidate, confident that the policies and initiatives undertaken by the Union Government over the past nine and a half years have garnered positive sentiment among the Indian populace. On the flip side, I.N.D.I.A. Allies may emphasize various criticisms and shortcomings of the N.D.A. in their election campaigns. The concept of 'New India' and 'Developed India' may serve as key talking points, potentially benefiting the N.D.A.

GENERAL ELECTION SPECULATIONS
Speculations are rife about whether the General Elections for the Lok Sabha will be held ahead of schedule or on the designated date. This decision lies within the prerogative of the Election Commission of India, in accordance with the Indian Constitution. Presently, the Assembly Elections for five states are on the horizon this year, and the Election Commission of India holds the power to decide whether these will coincide with the Lok Sabha Elections. The outcome will become clearer after the special session of Parliament in September 2023.

SUCCESSFUL LAUNCH OF ADITYA 1L
ISRO scientists have achieved a remarkable feat, fulfilling the aspirations of every Indian by contributing to India's success in space exploration. This year, Chandrayaan 3 triumphed in its lunar mission, and on September 2, 2023, Aditya 1L was successfully launched from Sriharikota. While Chandrayaan 3 focused on lunar exploration, Aditya 1L embarks on its first observation mission to the Sun. These accomplishments, coupled with India's historic lunar landing near the Moon's South Pole, pave the way for a promising future, shaping 'New India' and the path to global leadership.
