NIU Embraces the Spirit of 'Seva' on Guru Nanak Jayanti

Noida, November 5, 2025: To mark the auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti, Noida International University (NIU) organized a heartfelt event titled “Seva – A Gift of Kindness", which received overwhelming participation of students. The initiative was jointly organized by the Cultural Committee and Vaayu Club, in collaboration with Seva Group Foundation.
The event commemorated the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji by spreading his timeless message of Seva (selfless service). The primary objective of the initiative was to inspire students, faculty, and staff to engage in small yet meaningful acts of kindness that positively impact society.
Held at the Seminar Hall, the donation drive encouraged contributions such as books, clothes, blankets, stationery, and groceries. The collected items were donated to Seva Group Foundation, an NGO dedicated to child education and welfare.
The NIU community responded with remarkable enthusiasm and generosity. Students, faculty members, and non-teaching staff actively participated, turning the event into a collective expression of empathy and social responsibility.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Tanya Singh, Dean Academics, Noida International University, said,
“At NIU, we believe education is not only about academic excellence but also about nurturing a sense of humanity and responsibility towards society. ‘Seva – A Gift of Kindness’ reflects Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings of compassion, equality, and service. It is heartening to see our students and staff come together to make a difference through their acts of kindness.”
Through this initiative, NIU not only celebrated the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji but also reinforced its commitment to nurturing compassionate, community-oriented individuals. The event served as a reminder that true celebration lies in giving, sharing, and serving others selflessly.
