Jalandhar, October 20, 2026: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised a grand and colourful ‘Dandiya Night’ with immense joy, festive fervor and deep religious devotion at the KMV Hostel. The entire hostel premises vibrated with traditional music, energetic dance steps, and festive splendour as students gathered in vibrant ethnic attire to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of India. The auspicious occasion was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi, Director of KMV, who attended as the Chief Guest.
The cultural extravaganza commenced on a cheerful note with a series of stellar performances thoughtfully prepared by the hostellers. A group of multi-talented students—including Ripu Daman, Ruhi, Aparajita, Simran, Akshita, Aarti, Sukhpreet, Miksha, Manveer, Suksham, and Ujala—mesmerisingly captivated the entire audience through their artistic talents. Their diverse presentations featured soulful devotional Bhakti bhajans, rhythmic folk and Dandiya dance routines, and several interactive recreational games that filled the hall with joy and laughter. The seamless rhythm, charm, and enthusiasm of these performances held everyone spellbound throughout the evening.
The event was smoothly conducted and gracefully anchored by Nidhi Sharma and Riya Sharma, whose articulate compering kept the audience highly engaged and the momentum soaring high. In keeping with the sacred aura of the festive season, the cultural program reached its divine culmination with a collective and melodious recitation of the Hanuman Chalisa, invoking peace, strength, and blessings for all present.
Following the spiritual conclusion, Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi distributed awards and prizes to all the participating students, praising their dedication, creativity, and hard work with warm words of encouragement. In her inspiring address to the gathering, she commended the organisers and students for celebrating the occasion in an artistic yet deeply spiritual manner. She expressed her immense pride in the young women of KMV, highlighting how heartening it is to see them excel in modern artistic entertainment while staying profoundly rooted in their rich Indian culture, values, and traditions.
The grand celebration finally concluded on an exuberant note as the Chief Guest, special guests, faculty members, and hostel wardens joined the enthusiastic students on the dance floor to play Dandiya together, creating joyful, unforgettably cherished memories of unity and festivity.
