Patna, July 11 (IANS) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has officially fielded Neeraj Kumar Sinha Bharti as its candidate for the Bankipur Assembly by-election in Patna.

On Saturday, BJP national president Nitin Nabin congratulated the party nominee, describing him as a committed grassroots worker whose dedication to the organisation earned him the opportunity to contest the election.

In a post on social media platform X, Nitin Nabin congratulated Neeraj Kumar Sinha Bharti and shared an old photograph of the two embracing.

In his message, he wrote: “Greetings to Bankipur! Heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Neeraj Kumar Sinha Bharti, a dedicated young worker deeply connected to the soil of Bankipur, on being declared the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate.”

Nitin Nabin said Neeraj Kumar Sinha Bharti's unwavering commitment to the party organisation, from the booth level to the Mandal level, formed the basis for his candidature.

Expressing confidence in the party's prospects, he stated: “His continuous dedication to the organisation, from the booth to the Mandal level, is the basis for this responsibility. I am fully confident that the people of Bankipur will bless Neeraj Kumar Sinha Bharti, ensure his victory by a massive margin, and carry forward the journey of development and good governance.”

He also used the campaign hashtag #BankipurKaBetaNeeraj, projecting Neeraj Kumar Sinha Bharti as a local candidate with deep roots in the constituency.

The BJP had initially nominated Abhishek Kumar Sinha alias Bunty, the State Vice-President of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), as its candidate for the by-election.

However, Abhishek Bunty withdrew his nomination shortly after filing his papers, citing personal and family reasons.

Following his withdrawal, the BJP leadership announced Neeraj Kumar Sinha Bharti, who currently serves as the President of the Narendra Bharati Mandal in Bankipur, as the party's new official nominee.

The Bankipur Assembly by-election has emerged as one of Bihar's most closely watched electoral contests. With the BJP now finalising its candidate, campaigning is expected to intensify as political parties seek to secure the prestigious urban constituency. The BJP leadership has projected Neeraj Kumar Sinha Bharti's organisational experience and grassroots connect as key strengths heading into the election.
