Ludhiana, November 22, 2025: As part of the ongoing Village Adoption Program, the National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management, Kundli (NIFTEM-K), conducted two key initiatives in the village today— a plantation drive and an awareness session focused on NIFTEM’s academic offerings, technology transfer facilities, and innovative food products.
To promote environmental sustainability, students and volunteers from NIFTEM planted saplings across designated community spaces. The drive encouraged villagers to adopt green practices, highlighting the long-term benefits of increased tree cover, improved air quality, and ecological balance. Villagers also joined the activity, making it a collective effort toward a cleaner and greener community.
Alongside the plantation drive, the NIFTEM team organized an interactive awareness program to introduce students and villagers to the institute’s degree programs, pilot plant facilities, research opportunities, and the technology transfer mechanisms available for aspiring entrepreneurs. Demonstrations of NIFTEM developed food products and processing technologies were showcased to help participants understand practical applications in food innovation and rural entrepreneurship.
The initiative aimed to connect local youth with educational and skill-development pathways while also encouraging community members to explore value-added opportunities in food processing.
The day's activities received an enthusiastic response from villagers, who appreciated both the environmental effort and the exposure to new learning avenues.
