Need for a stronger India–Europe partnership to shape global stability: Dr. Monica B. Sood

Chandigarh, March 6, 2026: Emphasizing the growing importance of India–Europe collaboration in an evolving global landscape, Convenor, Intellectual Cell, BJP Chandigarh, Dr. Monica B. Sood called for deeper engagement between the two regions to promote technological progress, sustainable development and economic stability.

“India and Europe share common values and complementary strengths. By working together in areas such as technology governance, digital infrastructure and sustainable development, we can create pathways for innovation, stability and inclusive growth,” Sood said while addressing a high-level Round Table Conference held in the national capital. 

The Round Table Conference was hosted by CMI – A Peace Foundation of Eurasia, led by Susanna Leppakorpi, in collaboration with Movastacon. The event brought together diplomats, strategic thinkers and intellectual leaders committed to strengthening international dialogue and international cooperation.

Dr Monica shared the prestigious diplomatic platform with Mr. Pavlo Klimkin, Former Foreign Minister of Ukraine; H.E. Mr. Tomaz Mencin, Ambassador of Slovenia; H.E. Dr. Oleksandr Polishchuk, Ambassador of Ukraine; and Ms. Inga Skruzmane, Deputy Head of Mission from the Republic of Latvia. The round table brought together diplomats, policy experts, and strategic thinkers to deliberate on the emerging opportunities within the India–Europe partnership and its broader implications for global stability and economic cooperation.

Highlighting the need for collective solutions to global challenges, she noted that stronger partnerships between India and Europe can help address issues such as climate change, technological disruption and economic uncertainty.

“A deeper India–Europe partnership can help shape responsible technological progress and foster resilient economic frameworks that benefit not only our regions but the wider international community,” added Dr Sood who is also a  well known geopolitical analyst and CEO of the Navjivan Group.

Participants at the conference discussed how India and Europe can expand cooperation in key sectors including technology governance, digital infrastructure, renewable energy innovation, resilient supply chains and sustainable economic growth.

The discussions also underscored the importance of joint innovation in renewable energy and green technologies, with speakers stressing that collaborative initiatives could accelerate the transition to sustainable development while creating new opportunities for economic growth.

The conference concluded with a shared recognition that India–Europe cooperation will play an increasingly important role in shaping global economic stability, technological progress and responsible international leadership in the coming decades.
