NCC Enrollment Drive at PCM S.D.  College for Women

Jalandhar, October 6, 2021: To encourage the girl students to be a part of the NCC in order to get their personality developed in a holistic way and acquire the noble values such as discipline, patriotism, punctuality, competitiveness, team-work and confidence, PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar organized an NCC Enrollment Drive in the college campus. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation by the students of first semester from all the streams. On this occasion, the chief guest was Major Pratima, the Admin Officer of 2 Punjab Girls Battalion. The college Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Pooja Prashar accorded a floral welcome to the chief guest. At the commencement of the event, the students were made to watch a motivational video regarding the significance of the NCC in society and the nation at large. While addressing the students, Major Pratima focused on the benefits of joining NCC. She further told that NCC cadet not only excel in studies but also excel in co-curricular activities and every walk of life. She also guided the girls to join NDA as the government has opened it for girls also. Then the selection of the candidates were done on the basis of their communication skills, physical fitness and participation in Co-curricular activities. The event was also graced by the presence of GCI Madam Sandeep and Subedar PI staff Ram Iqbal. Towards the conclusion of the event, the Principal thanked the chief guest and Colonel Narinder Toor, the commanding officer of 2 Punjab Girls Battalion for constant valuable additions to the lives of the students. She also appreciated the efforts of the college NCC in-charge Lieutenant Priya Mahajan for organizing such events for the overall development of the students.
