Mohali, Sep 24, 2024: In the wake of the devastating floods in Punjab, which have left large areas submerged and posed significant health challenges, CGC University, Mohali, and Nav Bharat Mission Foundation have expressed deep empathy for the affected population. Stepping forward in this time of distress, the Nav Bharat Mission Foundation, in collaboration with CGC University, has contributed to the service of their fellow Punjabis by assisting the needy in the Punjab region.

This campaign, led by the Founding Chancellor of CGC University, S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, saw buses carrying ration kits, medical kits, and teams of volunteers reach the flood-affected areas . The relief efforts began in the villages of Dera Baba Nanak, Gurdaspur, including Talwandi Hinduana, Dharmabad, Khanna Chamiara, Mahal Nangal, Gola Dhola, Ratad Chhatar, Mansoor, and Patti Abdal—some of the most severely affected regions. Immediate assistance is being provided to the affected families to help them recover from this terrible disaster. Students and faculty volunteers are also actively participating in this humanitarian mission, and their spirit of service and dedication is making a positive difference on the ground.

While distributing the relief materials, Chancellor S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal prayed for the well-being of Punjab and said that this natural disaster has severely impacted a large part of the state, leaving thousands homeless, jobless, and facing health challenges. In response to these challenges, the university and the foundation have launched a comprehensive relief campaign to provide immediate assistance and strengthen the community. Chancellor Dhaliwal further stated that this initiative is not just a relief effort but a symbol of CGC University, Mohali's values of service, compassion, and social responsibility. It reflects the university's mission to be a pillar of strength for the community in times of need, not just a center for academic excellence. As Punjab moves forward on the path of revival, we stand united with open hearts and helping hands, determined to rebuild lives, restore hope, and become stronger together.

Arsh Dhaliwal, Managing Director of CGC University, shared his thoughts on the occasion, saying that it will take time to repair the damage caused by the floods in Punjab. However, he emphasized that during this time of crisis, we should all come together not just as an institution but as a family dedicated to service. MD Arsh Dhaliwal added that the CGC family has always been committed to preparing responsible citizens for the nation, along with providing excellent education. This initiative, under the leadership of S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, will continue to inspire students about their commitment to society. A large number of students and teachers also participated in the distribution of relief materials.
