National Mission for Capacity Building of Bankers for Financing MSME Sector (NAMCABs) Workshop held in Hisar, Haryana
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has organised a two-day NAMCABS workshop during August 28–29, 2025, in Hisar, Haryana. The programme is being attended by about 80 bankers from various banks across the districts of Fatehabad, Hisar, Jind, Kaithal, Sirsa, and Bhiwani.

Hisar/Chandigarh, August 28, 2025: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has organised a two-day NAMCABS workshop during August 28–29, 2025, in Hisar, Haryana. The programme is being attended by about 80 bankers from various banks across the districts of Fatehabad, Hisar, Jind, Kaithal, Sirsa, and Bhiwani.
The workshop was inaugurated on Thursday, by Vivek Srivastava, Regional Director, RBI Chandigarh. In his inaugural address, he underlined the crucial role of banks and financial institutions in facilitating MSME growth and employment generation. He highlighted that despite the existence of numerous policies, the MSME credit gap remains formidable. He emphasized that, “MSMEs are the backbone of the Indian economy, and banks must adopt a more sensitive and empathetic approach towards entrepreneurs. At this time of global uncertainty, empowering MSMEs to champion local products under ‘Make in India’ mission will keep economy robust and self-reliant”.
Welcoming the participants, Pankaj Setiya, GM, RBI described the workshop as an opportunity for participants to update themselves on best practices, policy guidelines, and innovative approaches to MSME financing. He remarked that, “Capacity building at branch level is critical to ensure that credit delivery meets the aspirations of small businesses and fuels growth. MSMEs are not only engines of growth and employment but also give confidence for a brighter and more inclusive future.”
The inauguration was also graced by senior officials from SBI, PNB, UBI and HDFC. The interactive sessions are being delivered by domain experts from RBI, SIDBI, MSME DFO, InvoiceMart, TransUnion CIBIL and experienced faculty from commercial banks.
Acknowledging the efforts of RBI, the participants expressed that the insights gained during the programme will be valuable in strengthening MSME financing at the branch level.
The NAMCABS workshop is being regarded as an important step towards empowering bankers with the knowledge and tools required to support entrepreneurship, generate employment and strengthen the MSME sector.
